An account of a great person’s life such as Mahatma Gandhi is clearly a must read. This great soul showed the world the strength of Ahimsa (non-violence) and how it can be used to face any adversary without compromising our own humanity and sense of peace. The strength of ahimsa is more evident as we see our neighboring nations which resorted to violence to deal with conflicts and have become prisoner to internal terrorism.
This book does cover in good detail the important aspects of Mahatma Gandhi’s life. The last few chapters of the book especially after Mahatma Gandhi’s arrival in India is not as detailed as it could have been but I think it makes sense as writing the freedom struggle part in detail would require a dedicated book by itself. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable and inspiring book to read.
